Boarding
Hillside Farm offers a unique boarding environment offered by no others so close to Milwaukee. If your horse has chronic hoof, tendon, ligament issues, or muscle issues, our environment may be the solution that can help. Our unique set up of all day turnout on acres of all grass pasture (not small dry paddocks) with a herd of horse buddies, encourages the horse to walk, graze, roll, trot, canter, sleep, and just be a horse all day. During the night (and during poor weather or poor footing) the horses are in their own stall which has a thick rubber mat and a thin layer of shavings. Why a thin layer of shavings you ask? Some research has shown that thick shavings actually hold moisture around the hoof causing it to weaken and cause bacteria such as thrush, to harm the horses hoof. In addition, thick uneven bedding can cause the horse to stand in it's stall on an uneven surface, causing strain on the tendons, ligaments, and muscles.
If you have been struggling with your horse's health; our environment, feed program, and research may be your solution. We have successfully taken horses with chronic problems and over a period of time have brought those horses back to health and balance. Our performance horses are barefoot (no horse shoes) and are excelling. We offer the expertise of top notch farriers and veterinarians to bring your horse back to sound health.
Get your horse healthy, sound, and happy. Call us or e-mail us. We have a limited number of stalls available and often have a waiting list.
